Snowpack

1.5 - 2cm widespread rain crust breakable to skis present at the carpark (1460m) all the way to above 1850m where we turned around. We dug a hasty pit at 1760m on a N aspect where there were two rain crusts (1.5 - 2cm thick) within the new snow. First crust was 3cm down and the second crust was 13cm down with fist snow between the two layers. We saw some buried surface hoar (where pen is in photo) around 30cm down which was non reactive to a rough shovel shear test. HS was 160cm with Nov 5 layer 1m deep.
