Quick Observation

Skied the Neve traverse, generally there is good stability and glaciers are in good condition with decent coverage. The North Pitt Glacier was the only one with some open crevasses close to the route but easily avoidable. The sun is already having some effect on the upper snowpack at E-S aspects, making it saturated and releasing some Na avalanche activity. Winds were light from the N but only at high points, no snow transport at all. Skiing was pretty amazing with 10-15cm low density on the top but there's a lot of wind affected features covered underneath. Observed: Na, Loose Dry, Sz 1.5, South aspect at 1700m on a very steep gully feature. Several Na, Point releases from rocky features, Sz .5 to 1, E-SE aspect on many elevations. Two Na, Wind Slab, Sz 1, North aspect at 1800m and 1700m at convexities under ridge tops.

Snowpack

On North aspects we found 10-15cm of light density snow on top of various crusts. Stability was good. Some ridge tops were wind scoured. Sun is starting to have strength and some effect on E-SE-S steep aspects with melt-freeze cycles on the surface.
