Quick Observation
20cm of new light dry snow made for great riding! Visibility was in and out as the fog moved. Sun came out in the afternoon around 2pm for about an hour, then overcast clouds came back in around 3pm Temps steady at -12 to -15 most of the day, with calm winds. While skinning on a side slope, the Downhill ski would wash away instead of compact and set track, storm snow not bonding to the hard wind slab beneath.
Weather
Mostly cloudy / foggy & overcast. Temperatures held stead at -12 to -14 throughout the day Very little to no wind, no snow transportation observed The sun came out for about an hour between 2-3pm
Snowpack
The new storm snow is not bonding to the wind slab below yet. On low-consequence convex knolls we observed the new surface snow slide on the distinct wind slab below it. The loose storm snow doesn't seem to gain much momentum when sliding. - New storm snow measured -12 degrees (15cm down) - Dec 20th rain crust was approx 10-12cm thick and 60-70cm below surface. - No other layers were reactive in both column tests we performed.
