Quick Observation

Still a very cold start with morning temps close to -30 Warmed up to bearable temps by mid morning. Moderate to strong Northerly winds at the treeline/alpine elevations have destroyed any exposed terrain. Rock hard wind slabs and concrete waves are everywhere. We saw several older windslab avalanches to sz2 from steep high alpine start zones. Terrible alpine/tl riding conditions sent us to sheltered terrain in treeline and below but the issues that caused last weeks SPAW are still there and we kept that in mind. Lots of shooting cracks and whumps with small slabs breaking away on small convex features. We lowered the risk by lowering our slope angles and dangled in the trees and creeks for while.
