Spent 2 days on Mount Brew. Apparent crowns were visible on all aspects at upper treeline, however due to the recent large winds and snow transport it was difficult to determine which were recent versus which were stripped/exposed. Similarly, old skin tracks near windward ridge-tops/open-plateaux had the adjacent snow completely stripped, leaving them strangely protruding from the slope. All aspects seemed equally wind affected (mix of wind press, stripping, loading, depending on adjacent terrain features), hard and slick. -15C to -20C throughout the trip. 20+cm of low density snow fell overnight, with significant drifting, and continued throughout the day on the 12th. Skiied NW, E & SE aspects. No signs of instabilities, shooting cracks or slab-like properties, however this new storm snow was not bonding well to the existing surface and easily sluffed on above 30deg slopes.
10-30cm new low density snow at upper treeline, 20-40cm new low density snow bellow treeline.
