Quick Observation
Today we sledded into the Seaton Basin and went ski touring. Our day started out with sledding in the rain but a few kilometers down the road it turned to snow. There was up to 5 cm over the old melt freeze crust which made the skiing tolerable above 1300m. Below this elevation the snow is soft, wet and stepping off the trail is not advised. We saw a couple small wind slab avalanches out of steep NE alpine terrain that happened today . We also saw an older wet loose size 2.5 avalanche that likely happened 24-72 hours ago, occurring on a steep south facing treeline feature.
