Deep, light powder above 1750m on this particular shoulder that we skied. Great day.
Steady snowfall all day. temps seemed to stay steady as well, although increased with loss of elevation.
This 145cm deep profile revealed no surprises on Begbie Shoulder. We were in a sheltered area among old growth trees, although open enough to not be compromised by tree bombs. HS was 300 plus, incline: 36 degrees, snowing S2, Calm winds all day with zero wind effect observed anywhere in the near vicinity. A very small, irrelevant Temp crust was noticed 5cm down under todays storm snow, but went unnoticed while skiing. The 145cm of snow seems to have bonded very well, no noticeable layers, with few prominent density changes. Fist Resistance in top 35cm, gradually shifting into 4finger in the middle, moving to 1finger and finally to pencil in bottom 90cm. 2x moderate breaks between 20 and 35cm down, very uneven. 1x CTM 13 RP down 39, could not recreate in other two column tests. Dec. SH not found at all in this pit. Air temp at the time was -1.2 T-10cm: -3.5 T-50cm: -4.7 T-100cm: -4.2
