We skinned up to the slide paths on the north side of the prominent gully at Fraser in the morning before heading into the main Fraser chutes in the afternoon. Heavy wind and poor visibility kept us out of alpine terrain, which remains visibly wind scoured (when we could see it). Strong south-southwest winds have created pockets of reactive snow on lee features above 1100 meters which we kept in mind when choosing terrain. If the ongoing storm generates a significant amount of snow, expect these slabs to become increasingly consequential. The best snow was in sheltered terrain in the trees. With new snow and very strong south winds currently howling at Tiny Town, we expect conditions to change throughout the weekend and will maintain a conservative mindset when choosing terrain.
