Banana Chute snipe. Variable melt freeze crust over musical bumps and russet area, this softened quite a bit by midday in the sun. Booted up the south-west face of Fissile, was super wet and soft by 12 but no other major signs of instability were observed. Crampons were handy, axe was purely cosmetic. The chute itself had a thick crust throughout, noticeably thicker in the top third section which eased the further down I rode. Bottom third had heaps of old avi debris, which just about filled the exit.
