We rode off the North face of two sisters peak. Had great riding and stable conditions for most of the run into the bowl. The first 10m of the decent were windefected and not great skiing.
On our approach we assessed the steep north aspect of the south eastern ridge and found that the new storm snow ( 10-20 cms depending on wind loading) Was well bonded on slopes <40 deg. On slopes >40deg there was minor sluffing on the crust layer from the previous warming cycle.
We approached the summit via the southeastern ridge. South aspects from the ridge top had a 5-10cm layer of facets under 5cms of fresh snow. This area had slab propagation of about 1-1.5 m near the ridge top.
We also found more faceting on area with thin snow pack and near protruding rocks on both north and south aspects.
