Elk Mtn Eastern Glades

Beautiful day on Elk Mountain. We staged at ~650m. Toured up the road around the eastern side of the mtn. Broke through the cloud layer ~1200m at which point the snow became much lighter and drier. We skied the best turns of the year so far from the top of the central knoll (~1680m) down the east side of the mtn on some fairly steep, shaded terrain We observed some pinwheeling in sunny areas. No other signs of instability on our day out.
