Quick Observation
Skied the Ledge Basin on Saturday, January 10. Temperatures warmed steadily throughout the day, with heavy, dense powder below approximately 1350 m. With wind slab as the primary concern, I ski-cut a small north-facing test slope off Zeus Dome. The initial cut triggered a thin surface wind slab (~5 cm) that ran as no more than a sluff. After a few additional stomps and cuts, a larger wind slab propagated, releasing a crown up to ~20 cm at the top and producing a size 1 avalanche.
