Quick Observation

Heavy snow starting around 0700 quickly accumulated. We ascended the ridge and saw no evidence of avalanche activity, however as we approached the summit near noon there was easily 20-30cm fresh snow, very loose and light. Winds gusting from the east. We intentionally broke a cornice into the west facing couloir shown and saw no triggered activity. Skied the couloir and noted some loose dry accumulation at the base of the couloir, likely a size one from earlier in the day. Skied the remainder of equinox and had amazing knee deep snow, some sluffing but no slabs. Another party we spoke to ascending the east face noted triggering a size one slab on a convex roll.
