One of those classic mid-winter transitional days in White Pass as the brief high pressure began breaking down. The morning saw strong north outflow winds through the highway corridor and lingering thick fog through the south end of the pass. Moderate south winds at ridge top were pushing around the 10cm of new snow that fell Sunday night but were not strong enough to stiffen it up or create new wind slab problems. No signs of recent avalanches or instability, but did observe large glide cracks in a south aspect above Fraser Lake, an area that seems to have gotten more and more popular.
