Avalanche Information
Triggered the avalanche when descending from a Mt. Garibaldi summit attempt. Party of 2 on 2-day Garibaldi-Neve traverse. It was much windier on Sunday than Saturday. We skinned up to just above the bergschrund and transitioned to crampons. Turned around shortly thereafter due to the active wind loading, deep unconsolidated snow and because we noticed a small crown over the route people were ascending on Saturday. Triggered the small wind slab on the first steep NE convex rollover heading toward the Tent and North Pitt glacier where we had camped the night before. The first skiier cut the slope and skiied out. The slab did not run very far.
