Checking on the progress

Rain and wind and snow. Decent coverage. Easy enough travel. Was targeting top of ridge but it was very windy. Hit the bottom of alpine and experienced a very hard crust under storm snow. Sloughed off easily over 30 degrees but no crazy cohesiveness. May shape up into a slab, especially in wind affected areas. Travel was difficult on crust without crampons. Pulled the pin and had a fun, careful ski back down. Lots of barely covered wood and rocks. setting up to be a good base.
