Quick Observation
Climbed to the Needle-Flatiron col for a quick lap down the glades. Tons of fresh powder. The most exposed portion of the ridge to Needle had pockets of wind-scoured terrain with bare rock and ice, then pockets of deposits on leeward features. No instability observed on the south-west/south aspect we rode. Weather was cold with morning snow (a few cm max), then cleared in the afternoon, with pockets of blue sky and sun. Wind was cold and biting on the ridge, although I think less intense than forecasted. Trees were decently well-filled with lots of powder from the get-go. Watch out for logs and tree wells.
