Quick Observation

Went to skoki for a camp, trail conditions in to Boulder pass were great with about 30+cm around LL to the halfway hut. The lake after Boulder pass was frozen enough to provide good travel. Lots of whompfing in Lee aspects at deception and boulder pass. Moderate winds from the sw were transporting over the 2 days creating fresh wind slabs. swirling winds at the pass had gotten to both sides. Large surface hoar development over night, sizes range in terrain mostly open areas are almost as large as 10mm and smaller 4mm in more dense areas. Trail breaking in the north aspect of the skoki Valley was horrible, the crust on those shaded aspects from about 2100-2400(maximum height) seemed not present in shaded or low angle north aspect areas with low snow depths(around 50cm)and had faceted out. Skoki is quite the suffer fest with unsupportive trail breaking from facets to ground(about 50cm deep in most areas) but the trail should be in now and easy to follow below tree line towards the lodge area. Thank you to who ever tried to sled out made the ski out alot more enjoyable!
