Bow Lake Practice Slopes

A lovely day skiing the practice slopes at Bow Lake. Skied nearly all the obvious lines. Prior groups had been in the area likely a day or two prior but lots of fluffy still to be found. Dug a pit near the upper glades area and found a buried rain crust approx 20cm deep. Rusch Block performed with multiple load bearing tests didn't budge the layer. The snow beneath the rain crust layer exhibited strong bonding and consolidation. Minimal wind activity and movement of snow. However, a fair amount of point release snow and debris from the upper cliffs above the slopes was witnessed... Almost needed to dodge one release. So keep your eyes and minds aware of what's lingering above. This will only increase with the projected snow forecasted. Fresh and untracked areas gave us powder mid-shine deep. Yup... Smiles all around.
