Thin cloud coverage throughout day with brief periods of sun, light wind and S-1 precipitation. Cracking on skin track from 1400m - 1800m on exposed slopes from solar crust and powder in sheltered areas on South aspect. Some pin wheels and tree bombs observed. At ridge top the snow loading is variable and was unreactive to skiers on South aspect.
Thin solar crust sitting on 40cm of precipitation particles then a 4F cohesive interface down to the mid January layer at 100cm. Large temperature gradient in top 50cm of snow pack. CTE9 (BRK) on PPsd down 40cm. Propagation tests had no results. Skiing conditions good with some sluffing on steeper features. No evidence of new avalanches noted.
