Natural size 1 must have happened after the last 5cm fell overnight and sometime before 10am, as there was no fresh on the debris. This was on the large open convexity at the "false summit" - that's what it is to me anyway. Broke just past the roll over. Two cracks propogated to a flatter slope that did not slide. Tried to cut it more on my way down and it didn't move.

Snowpack

Dug pit and column test 1230M West aspect, -10°c, 25°slope just above where the natural avy occured. Too sketchy to go further out onto a steeper slope to test. Storm snow accumulation on crust 55cm (must have some wind loading) Fist and 4F density. A few crusty layers in the 15cm below, -small layer of facets, -1cm hard crust -4cm faceting crust that would break apart in 5cm chunks -6cm very hard crust -1cm faceting crust that would break apart -2cm hard crust 1F snow further down. CTE6 RP Down 55cm on the small facet layer on first crust CTM16 RP Down 30cm, (wind loaded layer?) CTM19 P Down 55 and 60cm (crust broke in middle of column) CTH20 RP Down75 ( last of the crust layers broke at a less dense layer right below the crusts
