Quick Observation

Toured up on ridgelines close to 1900 m. Skied north facing, lower angle terrain down to around 1550 m with great snow quality. Good coverage in the trees lower down but a lot of early season features remain as obstacles. No avalanche observations and only minor sloughing on steeper features. Clear to few clouds, calm to light NW wind in the pm. -8 deg at 1850 m around 2 pm. Dug at pit at 1850 m on N aspect, 35 deg slope. HS 220 cm. Right side up snowpack with 2 to 3 cm layer of low density facets around 120 cm down. Crust down 150 cm. Snow appeared to be bonding well to crust. No significant compression test results (CT and deep tap on crust).
