We rode at Seaton today and we are glad we did.
The storm over the weekend provided up to 25cm of new snow and no sign of crust above 1350m. The rain crust was firm at 1100m at the trail head and tapered as we gained elevation with 5-15 cm of storm snow on top.
We dug a pit at 1500m and our extended column test yielded no results however the November surface hoar layer is still very much present down 75.
We stuck to the meadows and low angle slopes and will continue to do so until more information on this layer is gathered.
