Cornice avalanche

We dropped in a bowl, there was a tiny cornice, it did let go and propagated more than expected. The snow was definitely affected by the wind, there was a crust with new snow on it. Just a reminder with strong winds we had and recent snow to watch for cornices formation and slab. We are familiar with the terrain and were expecting it to happen in the higher bowl.
