Quick Observation

Myself and some friends ventured just out of the ski area boundary. Surprised to find hip deep snow while walking in the backside of Encore Ridge just below Lesser Flute . Winds moderate from the Northwest with significant transport. Gorilla tests on a small test slope 37° on the NE side of the ridge gave small loose dry results with shooting cracks between trees. Remote trigger of a 0.5 slab on the NE aspect as well. Triggered on foot 10m away. CTE 1-3 on low angle terrain gave a 30-35cm resistant planar of loose dry. Slabby snow on the way down the ridge. Snow was about knee deep in skis. Good powder in the trees.
