Steep Creek conditions

Skied up to the hut and above the ridge to the North of it at 1950m. Snow was terrible, with breakable crust throughout below that elevation on E and NE aspects. Plenty of avalanche debris on all steep North facing slopes South of the lake. Light snow all day, temp at the hut was -2C and rising. Other group reported good preserved snow on Chute 56 by the time we left the area at 4PM.
