Quick Observation

Went into Wolverine from the Mine Side, the trail in was low on snow (alot of rocks) and the creek crossing at KM 35 was interesting. Once up around KM 42 the snow gets better and the trail is much better. It was -10 when we left the trucks and -2 where we dug the pit past the cabin. Total snowpack 138CM with the December 6/7 rain crust down 17cm at 1470 M. The more elevation gained the better the snow. (Less Crust) Had Failures down 17 CM and 27 CM in the easy range on the Rain Crust and Melt Freeze Crust. Couldn't get to Propagate. Had Another Failure down 45 CM at density change from 4F to 1F in the Medium Range (CTM18) Good day in Wolverine! Watch out for the Erosion Ditches!!

Snowpack

HS 138CM -Had CTE 5 failure down 17cm on rain crust facets above and below, layer partially dropped and crumbled apart. -Had CTE 10 failure down 27cm on melt freeze crust, reacted same as above. -Had CTM 18 failure down 45cm resistant planar, where snow density changed from 4F to 1F Slope angle was 27 degrees at test site.
