Habrich-Sky Pilot Col

Don Webster, Saturday 8th February, 2025 10:38PM

Toured off gondola to Sky Pilot/Habrich Col. Ski pen was 40 cm, foot pen 80 cm. Whoompfing was heard at ridge top but also BTL in sheltered areas. Hand shears and Hasty pit provided moderate, SP results on Feb 4 layer (just below storm interface). Crust/Decomposing SH present. Also inconsistent, unrepeatable moderate RP shears within storm slab. Less reverse wind loading from last nights outflow winds present than I thought there would be. Viewed a size 1.5 - 2 natural (assuming) from across the valley that I think went sometime after the storm cycle ended sunday a.m. North aspect, 1700m elevation band, but difficult to provide more info due to distance and lack of visibility.
