Group of 3 forecasters from Parks Canada Visitor Safety team skinned up ridge and skiied a mellow supported line beside steeper wind loaded roll. After skiing the line, they noticed they had remote triggered the steeper wind loaded roll to their left that they had been avoiding. Earlier in the day, the team had noticed numerous whumphs in areas where recent wind had stiffened up the slab above the basal weakness. In a test profile prior to the avalanche, the team had gotten easy to moderate sudden collapse results on a facetted layer 30 cm down. The october 26th crust was very facetted out at the higher elevation (2500m) test profile site.
