Snowpack

CTM 13,17 down 80cm. Sudden collapse on the buried melt freeze crust. NE facing aspect on Oboe today in a low traffic, 25 degree pitch. Another weak layer of facets below the upper laminar crust collapsed simultaneously, down 20cm (visible in photo as well). Visible surface hoar today, on top of 2cm of storm snow, will almost certainly cause future issues (if we ever see fresh snow again!). Upper crust was very stiff but column test proved reactive once that upper crust had been broken. Only 1 small point release observed on a steep convexity. No human triggered or natural avalanches observed other than this CT. Mabey Ski
