Type

snowpack

Coordinates

49.592590, -121.096570

Quick Observation

Widespread wind effect in the Yak-Nak-Thar area, treeline (TL) and above. Wind transport all day even on lower TL features. Ski quality variable... tough to trust the conditions. Below treeline (BTL) had 10-25cm of soft snow, which became moist on sunny aspects, then froze to give a thin sun crust - negatively impacting ski quality late in the afternoon. The best skiing was shaded aspects upper BTL, where you could find 30cm of preserved powder.

Weather

Blowing snow was the story today, with styrofoam snow to prove it!

Snowpack

ECTX (no result) was the main finding. CTE-M (non-planar break and resistant planar) on preserved stellars down 15cm, 20cm and 35cm... but not showing signs of propagation. There is a 10cm thick, laminated Coastal Crust Complex down 50cm.
