Quick Observation

Lots of evidence of natural thin storm slabs (10-15 cm) on steep terrain features during a period of rapid snow fall loading overnight. We couldn't reproduce storm slabs in similar steep, small terrain features this afternoon though. We did get some shooting cracks in wind affected terrain near ridge tops, so we just stuck to sheltered terrain and enjoyed quality pow. It was -10 in the alpine and -3 at staging. Below 1600 m the sun was packing a punch and we observed some roller balling in steep terrain. It may be crusty there when it refreezes.
