Big Blue drainage entrance

Saturday & Sunday ski touring in the entrance of Big Blue drainage. 15 cm of heavy-ish powder on top of 15 cm of sugar crap (facets, loose) followed by approx. 50cm of a pencil hard melt-freeze (?) layer. Photos of a pit on mellow NW slope. Weak facets layer observed on all aspects. Whumpfing frequent. No shooting cracks. Stability better than expected. I have been stomping on small convex rolls and could not trigger slides.
