Rode the NW face of Baldy Rocks from ~2000m. Dug a pit on the NW aspect, saw 15-20cm of fresh snow on top of the upper crust layer. We did a compression test and saw a failure on the 9th tap about 16cm down. The riding was good, didn't feel the crust at all and did not experience any signs of instability. Still some early season hazards out there though. Height of the snow in the photo is ~95cm
