On a south aspect at 2100m we felt a large whumph while gaining the ridge. We suspect the failure occurred on the Dec 13th layer as we did not feel any slab property or sign of instability in the storm snow. We saw evidence of a natural cycle to size 1.5 from a few days ago but no new recent activity. We stepped back to low angle terrain for the descent.
