Cariboos

Today we were filming up at Lucille. The day was cool and cloudy with light winds blowing from the west. There hasn't been any new snow lately and it's starting to show. There are quite a bit of old tracks or hard wind-blown snow affecting the ride quality but there are some good pockets of powder to be found. The cold weather has also turned much of the snowpack into soft, sugary facets which is causing problems like windslabs to linger. We didn't see any signs of instability but we were cautious near ridgelines and areas where stiff snow sits over sugar. We did a test profile away from the wind in the bowl at 1850 m but didn't get any results of note in the faceted snowpack.
