High hazard? You'll find me waaay out in the flats.

southrockies, Saturday 8th February, 2025 10:38PM

Heavy precipitation, warm temperatures, and strong winds continued to drive up the avalanche hazard today. Given the conditions we avoided all avalanche terrain and managed to sneak up to 1900 m where it was snowing instead of raining. The top 25 cm of the new snow was more consolidated than the overnight snow and we were seeing touchy test results under this storm slab layer.
