A profile at 2100m on an east aspect showed 165cm of snow. The new storm snow totals from the last week was about 35cm which rides nicely with a consolidated mid pack below. However all of this was sitting on weak facets down 75 cm. We had sudden planar results on facets. We did not observe any new avalanches. This facet layer will likely persist for the season and if triggered a large avalanche would result. See the MIN for photos of the Mt.Hosmer size 3.5 avalanche that ran into the facets.
