Wedge / Mosquito

Went for a walk in the trees up towards Wedge ok above the mosquito drainage. Temps -12 to a mid-day high around -8, winds nil to light SW. Very light snow (ice fog crystals) all day with 1cm accum. Limited visibility due to ice fog and occasional valley cloud. Observed no new, natural avy activity but there are large east facing cornices off the south ridge of Dolomite that look prime. Stayed well clear of the big S-SE facing slopes as a result. Had only one settlement in a cold air drainage, otherwise no wumphing. Limited obs in the alpine but felt things stiffening up at the surface as we climbed higher on a small roll at 2200m esp. on S-SW aspects. Not a bad time to bone up on beacon search skills and refresh on good group decision making. Good skiing in sheltered trees,
