<p>Isothermal snow below 1100 meters then heavy new snow over isothermal snow, rain-soaked. Ski pen was calf deep. Crossed 5 or 6 avalanche chutes on Downing Creek road on steep west-facing gullies that had recently slid although not as big as in previous years.</p>

Convex slopes.

Rapid temperature rise to near zero degrees or wet surface snow.

30cm + of new snow, or significant drifting, or rain in the last 48 hours.
