Pretty good day out to be exploring, went up toward markhor peak. Conditions seem pretty stable. -8C at the car. A lot of variability on the runs north of Markhor, but mostly surface hoar on new snow, sitting on a MFc. Dust - 15 cm unconsolidated snow, more on the north slopes ~1800m. 3cm wind crust formed on steeper slopes. Challenging skinning at times, new snow super slippery on top of the crust. Crampons helpful, we just boot packed a short section and prayed for our edges. Cold temperatures were rough on the skins. Dust on crust in the trees. Sporty descent to the car.
