<p>Good skiing in the Hidden Valley/ Big Bend shoulder area today. Mild temps and snow with light to moderate westerly winds throughout the day. Fun turns were found in sheltered areas at treeline and below on SE/W/N aspects. The alpine was unsurprisingly windswept, and some wind affect was found in open treeline areas. Sluff management required on steep slopes below treeline, and pillows could be released with a lot of stomping; otherwise, no instabilities noted.
HS 110 at 1850m. HN ~6cm by 16:00.
Test pit at 1850m on North aspect below treeline.
-Moderate break compression test results initiated on the Dec. surface hoar layer, and broke into the above layer. No propagation with ECT.
-Moderate resistant planer compression test results down 30 below a first to four-finger minus layer of the previous storm cycle's snow.
-No result on Nov. 4 layer deep tap test.
