Steep Peak NW Face

blogan7420, Saturday 8th February, 2025 10:38PM

On steep kick turns lower down we were able to make ~40cm slabs propagate 3-4 feet and slide off the rain crust. It seems the low density snow on top of this rain crust is still struggling to bond. Higher up there were limited signs of instability and no sign of the rain crust, but as we transitioned to alpine terrain there was a wind slab approx 5cm thick. No movement when ski cutting steep slopes, riding quality was amazing.
