Areas directly below ridges were wind affected and the thin wind slab was breaking under feet at we skied, limited propagation. Ski quality improved lower. Multiple hand shears on W side of cornice ridge were failing easily down 30cm.
Dug one pit. ECT:3 Sudden planar, 15cm down. No propagation. Second failure Hard 27: Resistant planar down 40cm on a thin crust. No propagation. Same results on CT. There is a thin ice layer about 100cm down with a few cm of 4 finger snow on top of it.
