Cathedral Glades: heinous ski conditions

We visited some glades near Cathedral Peak On Friday December 3rd.
The rain crust was present all the way to our high point at 1950m. 5-10 cm dry low density powder was present on top of the crust. No frost was present above the crust when we checked.
The supportive crust and soft new snow would have made for pleasant skiing on low angle slopes. The somewhat steep, dense trees we blundered into were absolutely heinous.
