Mountain Addicts AST 1 group. With the strong winds in the Alpine moving a lot of snow around into potential wind slabs we went to plan B right away and spent the day below treeline. Checked out the snowpack in an open glade and found it to be 220cm deep, 2 cm of graupel on surface from today over 10-15cm soft snow from recent storm. Crust layers down 20cm and 40cm but no significant clean shears on these layers. No surface hoar to be found at this elevation in this area. Surface snow stayed cold and dry all day at 1300M
