Cirque Peak Outlier

jeff, Saturday 8th February, 2025 10:38PM

We skied very conservatively, due to the recent snow in the Rockies. We expected widespread instabilities and saw the results of many size 2 avalanches on our drive home. On Cirque Peak outlier, we did not encounter whoomphing or shooting cracks. Wind slab was present near treeline but had 10cm of stormsnow on top. A quick treeline pit produced CT13/14 SC down 40 and a ECTN14. Interface between 4finger storm snow and fist facets. Alpine looked like it had significant wind effect but we did not venture higher.
