15 cm ski pen of light powder over harder, denser layer that was hard to penetrate with a ski pole. Above tree line we could feel a harder crust underfoot on the descent. We saw no recent avalanche activity and observed no obvious signs of instability as we traveled. The day started with low cloud but cleared to blue sky and great biz.
