Short day exploring treeline terrain near Mt Patterson. We observed whumpfing from BTL up to about 1900 m in open sparsely teeed areas. Pole probing suggested 2 crusts at about 60 and 80 cm depth with underlying facets to ground. Above 1900 m, observed wind effect on exposed ridges. Sheltered skiing was excellent with 5-10 cm on supportive temperature/wind crust. No visible signs of avalanche activity.
