Avalanche Information

Remotely triggered a size 1.5 avalanche on lookers left of Halcyon. On a unsupported concave feature near treeline. Southeast facing aspect. Triggered from below/beside 30 m away from closest crown fracture. Crown depth 100 cm to 30 cm. Crown width 300m with bulk of debris running 100m. Had significant whumfing all through trees which continued into near treeline. Snow was getting stiffer from wind effect near treeline. Ski pen in forest was 30 cm and near treeline was variable 5-20 cm. Just about to turn back when remote triggered occurred. No injuries. Widespread whumfing reported from all parties skiing this area. Another skier triggered avalanche occurred on lookers right of Halycon gully on same day. One person injured with broken leg.
